What is WordCamp Orlando?
WordCamp Orlando is back for its tenth year, and ready to provide attendees with relevant training and expertise on all things WordPress, web design and web development. If you’re unfamiliar, WordCamp is a WordPress specific event that educates its attendees on web design, development and more. Each year is uniquely themed to allow guests to have fun and give the camp a light-hearted and casual feel. Past year’s themes have included outer space, LEGO, Harry Potter and more; this year’s theme happens to be cruise/beach oriented.
There are expected to be over 400 attendees, speakers and volunteers this year, making WordCamp Orlando the second largest WordCamp in Florida, right behind WordCamp Miami. The three day event is being held from Friday August 23rd through Sunday August 25th 2019 at The University of Central Florida, Rosen College of Hospitality Management. The full schedule of events can be found on their website at https://2019.orlando.wordcamp.org/schedule/ which consists of three full days of workshops and speakers on a wide array of topics.
WordCamp Orlando Sponsors
WordCamp Orlando offers companies the option of being sponsors for the camp with three different levels of sponsorship. Keeping with the beach theme of this year’s WordCamp the three sponsorship levels are named “Bonfire”, “Sandcastle” and “Volleyball” and each provide different opportunities for being involved with the event. Sponsors are still being invited to take part, if interested you can sign up here: https://2019.orlando.wordcamp.org/2019/03/29/call-for-sponsors/
SEO Smooth was a sponsor for WordCamp Orlando in 2018, along with several other digital companies including Woocommerce, Bluehost, Jetpack, GoDaddy and more. The details from last year’s WordCamp Orlando can be found at https://2018.orlando.wordcamp.org along with all of the speakers and sessions from 2018 for reference.
KidsCamp at WorldCamp Orlando
WorldCamp Orlando even has options for the younger audience with their annual KidsCamp. This year KidsCamp will be held on Saturday August 24th from 10 am to 3 pm, and will give parents and kids a chance to learn alongside each other. The KidsCamp is open to ages 7-14 and spots are limited to 30 kids per lesson. What better way to get your young one interested in web development and design than a fun day of learning right next to their parent? There are two different sessions for kids, one for beginners and one for more advanced and the cost is only $20 per child. Kids will even have their own WordPress website up and running by the end of the lesson!
How Can I Attend WordCamp Orlando?
Tickets for WordCamp Orlando can be purchased on their website at https://2019.orlando.wordcamp.org/tickets/ and for a variety of different sessions and speakers. Options include buying a weekend ticket for $50, which gets you into all of the speakers on Saturday and Sunday but does not include the Friday workshops. Additionally, you can purchase tickets for the individual workshops on Friday for only $25 each.
WordCamp Orlando 2019 is sure to be three jam-packed days of education and fun in an environment of like-minded individuals that all have an interest in furthering their knowledge of WordPress and web development as a whole. We highly recommend this conference to anyone in the industry looking to network, learn and grow in this area.
